TUNDE _ & _ L I G H T H O U S E

"Ocean Drive" was the first album and first single from the Lighthouse Family, it came out in 1995. Previous to this 'overnight success', Paul Tucker had fruitlessly tried to establish himself in the pop business. He eventually got the point of wanting to give up, he actually sold all his musical equipment and returned to college to study for a degree in French and German. After graduating he worked in a Newcastle club. At this time he had a killer song which he KNEW would be a hit, but he felt he needed a 'voice' to do it justice. He decided to advertise for one. He put up "singer wanted" posters all around Newcastle.

Luckily for the world, accountancy graduate, Tunde Baiyewu, was overheard singing along with the music playing in a Newcastle bar where he worked. Tunde was told that he should check out the poster. Tunde got with Paul to hear his music and immediately identified with "Ocean Drive". They recorded the track and sent off demos of it to several companies. Universal Records loved the track and soon the album "Ocean Drive" was released on an unsuspecting public. It was a multi-platinum hit and so were the following albums Postcards From Heaven and Whatever Gets You Through The Day

In early 2003 Tunde and Paul split to develop their own ideas and 18 months later Tunde emerged with an amazing solo album that was truly ASTOUNDING, but simply titled "Tunde".
