But since Jackie's first 'Police Story' movie had exploded across the world's screens, fellow Hong Kong film maker John Woo had somewhat stolen Jackie's thunder in the crime movie stakes. The burgeoning 'Heroic Bloodshed' movie market now had to be accomodated, so Jackie gave Pt.2 a much darker feel. The villains are far more vicious and think nothing of blowing innocent women and children to pieces.
