"Time For Me To Go" was written by the established team of Charles Fox and N. Gimbel. It was a long record by Motown standards of the time, at just under four minutes, it was delicately arranged by Gene Page and produced by Hal Davis.

The 'B' side was a variation on the arrangement of the song that had been created for the Jackson Five in 1970 for their first album "Diana Ross Presents....The Jackson Five!" It was a 'Motownisation' of the old Disney classic from the film "Song Of The South"!

The backing track to "Time For Me To Go" appeared again in 1976 on The Detroit Spinners ex-lead vocalist G.C.Cameron`s eponomous first solo album, which also spawned the hit single "Me And My Life". This time completely new lyrics were added by husband and wife team Elgie and Kenneth Stover and told a totally different story over the original hauntingly beautiful music. This time the original Hal Davis production was tweaked by G.C.Cameron himself and Motown Supremo Berry Gordy`s sister Iris Gordy.
